Promote ADC Custom Products

Transform raw ADC sheet to readytoinstall ADC custom products. Beyond worldclass optical polymers, we offer a full suite of secondary operations that transform cast sheets and nearnet shapes into productionready parts. Our valueadded services reduce your supplier count, shorten lead times, and ensure tight alignment between material performance and final component quality. Whether you need tighttolerance machining, cleanedge fabrication, protective hard coats, or turnkey assembly, our teams integrate process controls with the same rigor as our base-material manufacturing, ensuring consistent optical performance endtoend.

ADC Core Capabilities at a Glance

CNC Machining and Fabrication

CNC routing and milling with 3axis/5axis milling for complex geometries, pockets, and countersinks.

Laser Cutting

Highprecision kerf, no edge chip, and heatinput managed for optical clarity.

Drilling and Tapping

Get burrcontrolled holes, thread-forming, and inserts done quickly.

Typical Tolerances (depends on part size/material)

  • Linear: ±0.05–0.20 mm
  • Hole diameter: ±0.05–0.10 mm
  • Flatness: ≤ 0.5 mm/m (per Cast Sheet Quality Chart)
  • Edge quality grades available: Optical, Functional, or AsCut

Bonding, Joining, and Hardware Integration

  • Mechanical fastening: threaded inserts, standoffs, PEMs, pressfits
  • Gasket and Seal Integration for environmental protection (IPtargeted designs)

Coatings and Optical Treatments

  • HardCoat/ScratchResistant Layers for abrasion durability
  • AntiReflective (AR)/AntiGlare (AG)/AntiSmudge (AF/oleophobic) stacks
  • Diffusive and LightShaping Coats/Films for displays and light guides
  • UVBlocking/UVPass for specialty coatings
  • Conductive/EMIShielding solutions via films, meshes, or transparent coatings. Coating stacks are validated for adhesion, optical transmission, haze, and environmental durability.

Graphics, Printing, and Marking

  • Screen Printing for durable legends and highopacity layers
  • Digital/UV Inkjet for highresolution imagery and variable data
  • Backprinting and secondsurface decoration for wear protection
  • Laser Etch and Serialization for traceability

Assembly, Kitting, and Packaging

  • Clean assembly cells for dustsensitive optics
  • Subassemblies with fasteners, seals, films, adhesives, and electronics (as specified)
  • Kitting by station or build order, with barcodes/QR and traceability
  • Protective packaging: PE films, interleafs, corner guards, custom crates
  • Logistics options: Kanban releases, safety stock, consignment

Process Control and Quality Integration

Our secondary operations are governed by the same Quality Management System described on our Quality Assurance page—ensuring repeatability and compliance.
  • SPC on critical characteristics: thickness, nD (refractive index), haze, ΔE, surface roughness
  • Recipecontrolled processes: coating cure profiles, laser power/speed, vacuum forming curves
  • Gage R&R and calibration: profilometers, spectrophotometers, micrometers, optical CMM
  • (where applicable)
  • Lotlevel traceability linking raw sheet → process steps → inspection data → final part
  • serialization
  • FAI and PPAPstyle packages (on request) with ballooned drawings and capability indices (Cp/Cpk)

Materials We Commonly Process

  • Highclarity optical polymers (OP100 series)
  • Lowdispersion engineering polymers (OPLD) for chromatic stability

Design for Manufacturability (DFM) Tips

  • Edges: Specify edge grade (optical vs functional) to balance cost and clarity
  • Holes and Slots: Prefer ≥ material thickness for hole diameters; add leadins for inserts
  • Bends/Forming: Share target radius; allow extra for springback; include anneal callouts
  • Coatings: Indicate masked areas, stack order (e.g., AR over hardcoat), and durability standards
  • Graphics: Provide vector artwork, color codes (Pantone/CMYK), and layering intent
  • Tolerances: Use geometric tolerancing for critical fits; avoid overtightening noncritical dimensions

Inspection and Documentation Options

  • Certificates: CoC, CoA (coating), and Lot Test Reports
  • Optical Data: Transmission, haze, nD/dispersion, surface roughness (Ra/Rz)
  • Dimensional: Full layout, optical CMM snapshots, flatness, warp
  • Reliability: Adhesion (crosshatch), abrasion (Taber), environmental (UV/humidity/thermal cycle)

Typical Lead Times

  • Standard cutting and deburr: 3–7 business days
  • CNC machining with polishing: 7–15 business days
  • Coated parts: 10–20 business days (stackdependent)
  • Formed and assembled subassemblies: 2–4 weeks
NOTE: Expedites are available subject to capacity and material readiness.

How to Request a Quote (RFQ Checklist)

To accelerate quoting and DFM feedback, include the following in your request:
  • Drawings (STEP/IGES + PDF with rev)
  • Material and thickness (OP series + color/clear)
  • Quantities and release schedule (prototype vs production)
